Maureen has a long history of working in both private practice and community-based counseling centers. She has a special interest in working with survivors of trauma, such as domestic violence and childhood abuse. Maureen is passionate about helping her clients to increase their self-esteem, and establish and strengthen their boundaries.
Maureen’s approach to therapy is client-centered and strength-based. Maureen believes that each person is the expert in their own life, and is committed to helping her clients recognize and value their own inner strengths and coping skills. Maureen believes that the relationship between a client and therapist is the cornerstone of therapy, and she strives to create an environment in which her clients feel heard, understood, respected, and supported.
Maureen provides clinical supervision to pre-licensed marriage and family therapists and social workers. Her outstanding listening skills and non-judgmental attitude easily inspire trust, warmth, and rapport with her clients and her supervisees.
