Elizabeth Greig, ASW
Hello there! My name is Elizabeth Greig. I was born and raised in the East Bay Area, and I have Mexican roots. I received my Master of Social Work from San José State University and am a registered Associate Clinical Social Worker. I have experience working with children, teens, adults, and families from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.
My therapeutic style is humanistic, holistic, and collaborative. I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy to tailor treatment to each individual's unique needs and goals. I also value the healing role that connection with nature can play in overall well-being and, when appropriate, enjoy incorporating nature-informed perspectives into our work together.
I strive to create a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel seen, heard, and understood. I take the time to understand your unique background, belief systems, and values so that I can provide support that is personalized, culturally responsive, and aligned with what matters most to you.
My life philosophy: I believe that all life is interconnected and that each of us is uniquely designed. Each person possesses innate wisdom and an inherent capacity for healing. Sometimes, we simply need support in slowing down, listening to our bodies, and reconnecting with ourselves to reach our full potential.
I enjoy working with individuals who are seeking to improve their experience of life and who are ready to better understand themselves and their experiences in new ways. My role is to provide guidance and support as you discover the tools within yourself to live a more authentic, meaningful, and joyful life that aligns with your personal values.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy going on walks, Polynesian dancing, singing, country music, and going to the Sierra mountains or along the coast and soaking up all the benefits that nature provides for us!
If you feel we would be a good fit, I would be honored to support you as you move toward the life you want to create. Feel free to email me at elizabeth@institueofmindfultherapy.com
