Ilana Wexler, AMFT
Hi, I’m Ilana Wexler (she/her), an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist at the Institute of Mindful Therapy. I work with adults, couples, and children from a psychodynamic, humanistic, and relational perspective. I’m committed to meeting you where you are on your unique journey, viewing therapy as a collaborative process grounded in curiosity, compassion, and authentic connection. I also believe therapy doesn’t always have to feel heavy—when appropriate, I welcome humor and levity as meaningful parts of the healing process.
My approach is both insight-oriented and practical, helping clients deepen self-understanding while developing meaningful tools for change. I support adults navigating anxiety, depression, body image concerns, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. With couples, I focus on strengthening communication, increasing emotional connection, and working through recurring relational patterns. When working with children, I create a safe and supportive space to explore emotions, build coping skills, and foster confidence and self-expression.
My work integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), behavioral strategies, and solution-focused interventions to promote growth and forward movement. Additionally, I draw from my training in Gestalt therapy, bringing a sense of embodiment that invites awareness, emotional depth, and openness to whatever emerges in the moment.
Above all, I am passionate about helping clients reconnect with their sense of self, clarify their values, and cultivate empowerment in their mind, body, and voice. It is an honor to walk alongside individuals, couples, and families as they move toward greater fulfillment and well-being.
