Michael Keesey, AMFT
Michael is originally from the Bay Area and is focused on providing a holistic approach to psychotherapeutic care to the community in which he grew up. He is a husband, father and son who continually looks to integrate his learned experiences into his practice.
Michael recently graduated from Saint Mary’s College of CA with a Master in Marriage family therapy, career, and College counseling. He served as a counselor intern providing community based mental health services to the local community. He previously worked in higher education for twelve years. Providing administrative and counseling services to local community college students from a range of diverse backgrounds.
Michael practices a person-centered approach to counseling while incorporating psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral based modalities into his practice. Michael continues to learn and incorporate holistic and somatic practices into his counseling as well as providing clients with an integrative experience. Michael is especially passionate about expanding mental health access and education to men providing a safe space for them heal and grow. He has experience providing counseling to a diverse range of client and considers himself an ally to the LGBTQ and undocumented communities.
I look forward to working side by side with patients to create a healing space to explore as well as move towards growth and healing.
